Invest in Morocco



FFaced with the challenges of a globalized economy in constant evolution, the National Pact for Industrial Emergence (NPIE) aims to build a strong industrial sector and create a virtuous circle of growth.
The State (public) and the private sector have sealed this Pact through the signature of a program contract covering the period 2009-2015. By consolidating in a single document their mutual commitments, the partners provide all investors with the necessary visibility on what will be the Moroccan industry of tomorrow. This contractual formula also ensures the proper implementation of the measures decided by ensuring the mobilization of all stakeholders around specific, concrete, concerted and budgeted actions.




The agricultural sector contributes 19% of thenational GDP (Gross Domestic Product), split between agriculture (15%) and agro-industry (4%). This sector employs more than 4 million people, about 100,000 of whom are in agribusiness.
The new agricultural strategy, Plan MarocVert (Green Morocco Plan), set up by the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, aims to consolidate the successes achieved and to respond to Morocco's new challenges in terms of competitiveness and openness of markets.




Faced with the uncertainty and instability of the global energy market marked by the volatility of prices and the lack of energy resources, Morocco is embarking on a major challenge of meeting the demand of the current generation through an approach of sustainable development.






The fishing sector in Morocco has an integrated, ambitious and comprehensive development strategy for 2020 called "Halieutis". It aims at upgrading and modernizing the various segments of the fisheries sector as well as improving its competitiveness and performance.


Information and Communication Technology (ICT)


The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is an essential factor for the emergence of the knowledge society and can actively contribute to human development, the improvement of social cohesion and the growth of knowledge of the national economy. The challenge for Morocco in the ICT sector for the coming years is not only to sustain the progress already made, but above all to allow the integration of Morocco into the global knowledge economy, through an amplified and widely distributed integration of (ICT) at the level of all the actors of the society: State, administrations, companies and citizens. The 2013 Numeric Morocco Plan was built around a vision and clear ambitions for Morocco, aiming to position it among the dynamic emerging countries in terms of Information and Communication Technologies.




The many assets and potentialities of Morocco have allowed it to become a popular tourist destination. With contrasting and varied landscapes (3500 km of coastline, mountains, deserts ...), a rich cultural heritage (imperial cities, Medinas, gastronomy and handicrafts), Morocco is a unique and diversified tourist experience only 2h30 flight from the main European cities.




The National Strategy for the Development of Logistics Competitiveness, which was the subject of the 2010-2015 program contract, aims to reduce logistics costs by 20 to 15% of GDP(Gross Domestic Product).
Including the development of 70 logistics platforms in several cities (2,080 ha) by 2015, the Kingdom's new logistics strategy aims to accelerate economic growth by 0.5 percentage point of GDP per year, or 5 percentage points of GDP in 10 years.


Commerce and Distribution


Domestic trade contributes 11% of GDP and employs about 1.2 million people or 12.8% of the Moroccan labor force. In the last decade, domestic trade has witnessed the emergence of new modes of commerce, particularly franchises and mass distribution networks.
